Beached whales are whales the are on our beaches but were doing OUR best to save them so check it out.

ReplyDeleteThanks for creating this informative DLO about the terrible tragedy in Farewell Spit earlier this year. It was so sad that so many whales became beached and that the locals weren't able to save them. They certainly did everything that they could to aid the whales. I really hope that a similar event doesn't happen again in the area. There does appear to be concern that the whales might accidentally swim too far into shore again and get stuck, however, we will keep our fingers crossed that this does not happen!
As an aside, thanks so much for providing us with a link to the Radio NZ site that covers the story. That is such a cool idea!
